Bill Mayer Saddles offers three saddle lines, ULTIMA and ENDURA and ERGO – “Contour”. Like people, no two BMS saddles are alike. Each is custom made based on you and your passengers size, weight and riding style.
ULTIMA seats are made from premium leather and our ENDURA line is made from premium vinyl in a smooth or basket weave finish.
Here at BMS we like to keep it simple. Our standard seats are black on black. But if you like a different color combination we will do our best to accommodate you. We keep a wide range of colors in stock. Take a look at some of the work here. If you see a color combination you like let us know. There is no additional charge for standard colors we stock in our shop. Custom colors will be confirmed with you over the phone.
When you order a Bill Mayer Saddle you can either “ride in” to the shop where our expert staff will correctly fit you to your new saddle. Typically this takes about 3-4 hours. You will test ride your seat without the cover until the fit adjusted perfectly.
If you can’t make it to the shop we will use our “mayerGOnomic” system to custom fit your seat. We have a detailed rider specification form you will fill out and also provide us pictures of you on the bike. When you mail us your seat include the form. You can also fill out the rider specification form online here after you place your order.

In July 2012 BMS introduced the new ERGO – “Contour”. It’s called the ERGO “Contour”, and it’s made using our “perfected core mold”. Just like our custom seats, the ERGO is custom fit to each rider. That’s right, it’s not an “off the shelf” seat, but a true Bill Mayer Custom Saddle designed to sit on top of your stock seat. When you order your ERGO you will need to fill out the ERGO Rider Specification Form so we can customize it specifically for you. Just like our custom saddles, the ERGO is available in our ENDURA (premium marine grade vinyl) and ULTIMA (premium leather).
The ERGO comes in three different models depending on your height and the bike you ride. We will select the correct model for you once we review your Rider Specification Form. We will also select the correct “perfected core mold” density (soft, medium, firm.) **Accent colors available upon request.

The idea came from all the request from rally goers that realized the key to BMS’s success was our Contour shape, our “perfected core mold” that goes into every saddle we make. FAQS, Common ERGO Questions
1. Will it raise my seat height, should I be concerned about my foot
to the ground?
It will raise you slightly. We will custom fit the correct model to your height and riding style.
2. Do I use my Ergo when I commute or ride in traffic?
We recommend slipping it on and buckling it tight as you start a long
days ride, also it is easy to slide it back out of the way when
stopping (for those inseam impaired)

3. Is it more comfortable than a gel pad or air hawk?
Yes absolutely, your new Ergo is contoured, this spreads your weight
for greater support, a gel pad or air hawk can not do this.
4. Will this replace my need for a Bill Mayer Saddle?
No, but if you can’t make it to Ojai, Ca. or are not able to be with
out your seats while we build your custom BMS your new Ergo will do a
great job making you much more comfortable on long rides.
