What's the history of BMS?
Bill Mayer senior worked in furniture mfg and design, his passion for
motorcycles was his vehicle out of corporate life. In 1971 he started
Mayer "Day Long" Saddles, his patent for a spring device that was sunk
into foam made it's mark on motorcycle touring, he sold his business
in the mid 80's to Russell in Fall River Mills Ca. and agreed to a
five year non-compete.
In 1990 with 5 years to work on New Bill Mayer ideas he opened Bill
Mayer Saddles "BMS" with new technology, in 1998 he formed a
partnership with his oldest son Bill "Rocky" Mayer III. Inspired by
greatness Rocky and his amazingly talented staff continue the legacy.
How does a BMS compare to other custom seats?
There are few quality seat makers, but with all things buyer beware.
How long will a BMS last?
Usually longer than you own the bike.
How do I care for my BMS?
Cover it when you park it out in the rain, use the leather conditioner
we give you, and for vinyl, soap and water.
